Nioko dragged Atashi along down the sidewalk. "Come on Onee-channn!" She stopped in front of the entrance and squeeled. "It's sooo pretty. It reminds me of my grandma's house! She used to have all these pretty flowers and trees in her backyard. She had a VERY big house. But anyway, it was always colorful and everything!!" She jumped up and down. "Do you wanna go in Onee-Chan!?"

Atashi nodded. Just inside the garden was a traditional Japanese tea house. "Oh, how wonderful..." Atashi sighed. She loved tea. Especially served the English way with pastries (she had a bit of a sweet tooth, she did make candy after all.) However, she also loved Japanese tea. Slightly bitter, and terribly soothing. "Do you like tea, Nio-chan?"

"mmhmm!" Nioko nodded her head. She looked around and saw the building. "Is that a tea house? I've never been to one!!" Nioko started to run over but then stopped. "Is it okay if we look inside really quick Onee-Chan? I've never been in one and I wanna see what it looks like!"

"Of course. We could even go to a tea ceremony if you want to. You might not like it though. You have to sit still for a long. time." Atashi laughed.

Nioko blinked. "That'd be fun, but I don't know if I can sit for a long time." Nioko smiled and ran off into the tea house.

Atashi walked into the tea house, being careful to take her shoes off and admiring the kimonos of the participants. She watched as the hostess whisked the tea. She loved the formality and order of the ceremony. She leaned against the wall and motioned for Nioko to come to her and be silent. "Tell me when you want to go, and if you want anything explained, alright Nio-chan?" She whispered to thee young girl.

Nioko looked at Atashi was kindness, and then nodded. "Okay Onee-Chan.." She whispered. She stood next to Atashi as straight and as proper as she could, trying to prove to her she can be in order. She watched the hotess.

The hostess smiled at the two girls. "Would you two like to join? There is plenty of tea for you and you don't have to be dressed in kimonos."
Atashi smiled back, rather tempted. "That depends on what Noi-chan would like to do. What do you think?" She looked at the young girl.

Nioko looked up at Atashi. She smiled. "Sure!" The girl smiled at the hostess. This is soo exciting something new!! "I can't wait..."

"Hai, douzo." The hostess gestured for the girls to it down on one of the pillows which lay on the floor.
Atashi smiled sweetly and sat down, folding her legs under her in the traditional Japanese style with practiced grace. She had never been a particularly active girl (at least not since she was very little), and as such, had never found in hard to sit still for long periods of time as so many children did. Indeed, she would not be one whose legs would easily become numb even sitting on them and possibly cutting off some of the circulation of her blood. Her legs were used to it. The hostess handed a cup of tea to each girl and Atashi bobbed her head as she accepted it. "Itadakimasu."

Nioko watched and followed as Atashi did. "I..tadakimasu!" Nioko smiled sweetly at the hostess and looked at Atashi to be sure she did so right.

Atashi smiled at Noiko to tell her she was doing a good job. Then she almost dropped her tea cup when she saw a clock. It was much later than she had realized. Even with classes starting in the afternoon as they were today she was likely to be late. "Oh my! Is it that time already? I have somewhere I have to be. I'm so sorry. Please excuse me." She bowed several times in apology (as the hostess continually told her it was fine) and walked to the door to put her shoes back on. "Come on Noi-chan! We have to hurry if we want to be on time for school!"

"Oh! School!" Nioko jumped up from her spot. "Arigato!!" Nioko walked over and slipped her sandals on. She bowed to the hostess just before running out the door with Atashi. "What time is it Onee-Chan!?"

"About 12:15. School starts at 12:30 today!" Atashi was running and reached the house where she quickly changed into her uniform. She then stepped outside. "Noi-chan! Do you need any help? If not I'm going to go on ahead, alright?"
