Miyuki's destination had changed more than he'd like to admit this past hour.
What had been a 'quick trip to the convenience store' had turned into, "Hey, let's go see the mall~," to "Oh my God, ice cream store! <3," to, "OMG, ARCADES<333," in the course of the afternoon, and while he was loath to admit it, being able to see the town outside his school more in-depth from when he'd first arrived was a pleasure he'd wished he'd indulged in earlier. It wasn't as though the feeling of incongruity wasn't still there: he felt awkward in his jeans, belted peacoat, even Vans, and were it not for the lack of crowds, he knew he'd be convinced everyone was looking at him. Urgh. A sheet of goosebumps popped up indiscriminately on the skin of his arms, safe from view by means of the sleek black fustian of his jacket.
Arms. It wasn't entirely random, but those currently-unadorned appendages of his were exactly why he was at a jewelry shop. In his haste to leave Mie, he'd allowed his oversight to get the better of him, and in result had missed the one piece of jewelry he liked: his charm bracelet, product of four years of searching for the perfect charms and perhaps twelve long, was sitting placidly on top of his old dresser at home.
So Miyuki felt he needed a new one.
Presently, he stepped into the store and flushed a little, trying to avoid the jewler's gaze and almost starting as they uttered a cordial, "Hi, how may I help you?" Customary politeness, Miyuki, you need to get used to it.
Whatever reservations he had were put to a halt as he looked around. What these people dealt with surely wasn't what he needed: these were all expensive-looking necklaces and rings, and he just needed a simple starter bracelet. Suppressing that overwhelming sense of disappointment, Miyuki sighed and looked around anyway, hands in his pockets.
